Qualifications/Skills

Knowledge of the Windows 95/98/ME, 2000, XP, MacOS, and Linux operating systems, which includes troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation of all these systems.  Experience with building computers, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, the internet, HTML web pages, and web programming.

Hardware:  Built several computers from components for various clients in an independent consulting business.  Have also built two small networks for sharing a DSL internet connection amongst multiple machines.  Offer in-home computer consulting for various individuals and for Chatham Village that generally involves computer system troubleshooting, new hardware installation, upgrades, and building complete systems.

Customer Service:  Adept at explaining issues and training less-experienced computer users, solving problems and satisfying clients and customers.

Internship working in Concurrent Technologies Corporation’s Data Visualization Line.  Work included database design, web design, systems programming, and software development.

Summer internship for The Carnegie Mellon University graduate business school’s computing group.  Work included help desk activities, computer repair, web design, student training, and general consultation.

Summer internship in the Quality Assurance Lab at Medrad, a manufacturer of high tech medical diagnostic equipment.  Created a QC production database using MS Access, built electronic QC test fixtures, and calibrated Vistron injector heads.
